Summer is here & school is out. Yay! As each mom knows, it can be a struggle to keep your children entertained & having fun while sticking to a budget. What if I told you about a way to add fun into your kid’s typical summer day without too much time or money spent? You add summer fun right in your usual grocery routine.
Having summer fun means getting a bit creative, not necessarily spending more money. If you are like me, you already have cereal in your grocery budget so why not add some pizzazz to your kids’ breakfast by hacking their regular breakfast routines with a familiar summertime flavor that has been transformed into a cereal?! On your next trip to Walmart grab a box of the new Drumstick Cereal by General Mills.
This week my girls had a fairytale breakfast in their magical fort. They had a blast, and it didn’t cost me any extra money. We used the pillows, blankets, and stuffed animals that we have on hand. Remember to let the kids take the lead on how they want to assemble their fort. It’s much more fun for them to decide on how their fort is built. It gets their creative juices flowing, and depending on their age, and it MAY get you a few moments to yourself! Then all I had to do was grab some Drumstick cereal out of the pantry with some bowls and voila! A magical fairytale breakfast.
Y’all, purchasing Walmart’s broad assortment of General Mills classic cereals & new innovations makes it so much easier than ever for me to keep my pantry loaded with go-to cereal staples that enhance my family’s summer fun. All you need is a bit of planning, and you are good to go!
