Disney’s Castaway Cay Bucket List

Disney’s Castaway Cay Bucket List: 7 Things You Must Do and See
If you take a Disney cruise, one of the stops on your itinerary includes Disney’s own private island, Castaway Cay. This island is not just full of beauty, family fun, and adventure, but you can enjoy experiences you won’t get on any other port stop. Look below at our Castaway Cay bucket list, and get to know the 7 things you must do and see! This way, you can be sure you make the most of your Disney’s Castaway Cay stop!

Disney’s Castaway Cay Bucket List

1. Find the free ice cream.
While all of the food and beverages you enjoy on Castaway Cay are included in your cruise ticket price, one stop you want to be sure and enjoy is the free ice cream stations. The island can tend to be toasty, so free ice cream is a great way to cool off in between adventures. Take a water bottle to the island with you as well, so you can fill up at the drink stations and stay hydrated even from your beach towel.

2. Send a letter.
Disney’s Castaway Cay has its very own post office! Use this opportunity to send postcards to family, friends, and even yourself. This way when the post card arrives you can see the Castaway Cay stamp on it. It is a fun way to remember your trip.

3. Feed the stingrays.
Castaway Cay has its own friendly family of stingrays you can feed right from your own hands. This is an excursion you will need to pay for ahead of time, but the cost is worth it. You will get to enjoy a training and informational session, then the fun begins! You will get stingray “jello” that the rays will go nuts over.

4. Consider the adult only beach.
If you are ready for some alone time, Disney’s Castaway Cay does have an adult only beach. This is a quiet, relaxing place out of the way where adults can have some fun in the sun, order cocktails, and take in the beautiful scenery!

5. Visit with the seahorses.
Visiting with the seahorses is another paid excursion you can enjoy and worth every penny. Where else can you get up close with real tropical seahorses? On this excursion, you will learn about the seahorses and get the chance to explore their habitat.

6. Cool off in the kid’s splash area.
This is no regular splash pad! For kids who like to play at their own pace, the kid’s space area is perfect. Kids can play in a closed in play area, complete with attentive staff ready to assist. Stay as long as you like for no additional fee.

7. Enjoy photo opps!
If you are having a hard time getting character photo opps in, Castaway Cay makes it a bit easier. You can find characters near the entrance and by the post office during most hours of the day. Captain Hook likes to make regular appearances, and you will find accessing the characters to be a bit easier than if you were at the parks or on the ship.

While you are at Castaway Cay, don’t forget to enjoy a few other perks! You will find unlimited fresh fruit stations which are quite magical and not found at any other Disney park,  free shuttles to take you to and from the dock, small shows and live entertainments, plus lots of attentive staff ready to help.

The Disney cruise and Castaway Cay was an experience my family has been talking about for years. We made so many memories on this beautiful island. I’ve been keeping my eye on another Disney Cruise, possibly the upcoming European Cruise with Adventures by Disney. But I do hope to make our way back to Castaway Cay soon.

Make the most of your time there when you give these 7 must see Castaway Cay attractions a try!

Have you been to Castaway Cay? What was your favorite activity?
