Strawberry Shortcake Waffles

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign withPollinate Media Group®, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #AddSpirit2Breakfast http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

You guys know how much I love spending time with my family. As a busy mom as finding time to dedicate to my children is always something important to me. So, I planned a super sweet “Girls Only” breakfast with my daughters.  It was a blast. We got up early to make a yummy strawberry shortcake waffles treat and then snuggled up to watch one of their favorite shows – “Spirit Riding Free” on Netflix. We enjoyed laughter and conversation, while discussing many of the episodes of Spirit Riding Free.

Spirit Riding Free on Netflix

Mamas, if you haven’t heard of Spirit Riding Free, you need to check it out. The show weaves together positive themes of friendship, loyalty and girl empowerment. The show follows a young 12-year-old city girl named Lucky who moves to a small town. In that small town, she befriends a stallion named Spirit and I won’t spoil it but Lucky displays such tender loyalty to Spirit. Lucky also meets 2 girls named Pru & Abigail who also have horses of their own. The series follow them on their everyday adventures across Texas. You can find a host of fun “Spirit Riding Free” activities here, including slumber party games and invitations.

Strawberry Shortcake Waffles

Now let me tell you about our delicious dessert. We made a yummy strawberry shortcake made with Eggo waffles & Reddi-Wip. We choose this twist using Eggo Strawberry waffles because they are warm, fluffy and delicious & toast up to a delicious golden crisp in just minutes. This made the process super quick and easy for kids to make on their own. My girls love making fun recipes in the kitchen with me so this was the perfect treat for them to pull out their aprons on jump right in.

Reddi-Wip makes the perfect cool addition to any waffle and I purchased the Original variety in 6.5oz size for little hands and 13oz size for adults. Reddi-Wip uses the best dairy cream in original flavors. Providing real cream is a top priority for me. I don’t know about your children but my girls love to squirt as much Reddi-Wip into their mouths as they can. So the fact that Reddi-Wip uses less hydrogenated oils than other frozen whipped toppings is a plus for me. Reddi-Wip has both dairy and non-dairy options for those with dietary restrictions.

This strawberry shortcake waffles is such an easy dessert that you don’t need directions my girls jumped right in and went for it. But I’ll give them to you just in case.

Ingredients:
EGGO 10ct Strawberry Waffle
REDDI-WIP ORIGINAL 13oz
Package of Fresh Strawberries, sliced
Strawberry Jam, (optional)

Directions:
1. Toast Eggo waffles to desired texture.
2. Layer Eggo waffles, strawberries, Reddi-Wip & jam as desired. Told ya it was simple 🙂

I was able to get the Eggo waffles, Reddi-Wip and all the ingredients needed for this at my local Walmart. This made the prep for our special breakfast time super easy and I was able to focus my attention on adding “Spirit” to my girls’ breakfast. We talked about friendships & inclusion and what it’s like to be brave, smart & confident young girls. It was priceless mother -daughters time. I never miss an opportunity to empower my daughters.

Be sure to check out “Spirit Riding Free” on Netflix with your daughter(s) and her friends when you have your next get-together. It’s a perfect series for those fun slumber parties.

How do you add “spirit” to your breakfast?
